The AAAPTG is affiliated with Michigan Music Teachers Association and Music Teachers National Association.
Benefits to teachers include joining a community of Piano Teachers who meet monthly at Formal Meetings to share ideas and skills of piano teaching. There is also a monthly Repertoire Group Meeting for those who wish to share new or reviewed repertoire with local colleagues, a Seminar Group which discusses topical matters concerning piano teaching.
Benefits to students of member teachers include opportunities to participate in Student Achievement Testing, Recitals, State and National Competitions, and Foundation Awards Auditions.
Teacher Certification is both a state and national program which offers advanced professional standing on the basis of high professional standards.
